The 3-day course is the perfect foundation to get started with wing foiling. You’ll learn all the basics needed to continue independently afterward. Of course, you can upgrade with additional lessons, but after this course, you’ll be able to learn on your own. A solid foundation is essential for having fun while wing surfing and safely enjoying the water.
During the 3-day course, we teach you everything you need for wing surfing to get started independently. From our own experience, we are confident that this course provides you with a complete foundation to truly master wing surfing. Experience the stoke of wing foiling!
You start by preparing the wingfoil set. Next, there will be an explanation of the equipment you'll need and what each part is for. You'll learn how to use the wing and how to hold it in the correct position before heading out onto the water.
Once you have control of the wing, you'll go onto the water with a board and learn to position the board at a 90-degree angle to the wind. After that, you'll grab the wing and take your first meters while kneeling. You'll be riding a board with side fins and not yet using the hydrofoil.
Getting up on the board is the next step to take. You’ll learn where to place your feet and how to stand stable on the board with the wing in your hands. The goal is to learn to return to where you started. You'll be riding back and forth on a board with side fins, but without the hydrofoil for now.
In this lesson, you start with a review of riding on the board without the foil. Once you can sail back and forth on a beam reach, we will add the foil underneath. At this point, it’s important for you to learn how to feel your position on the board so you can understand how to maintain your balance on the water and when the board starts to lift.
Now you'll experience when you are in the right position on the board and when you will first feel the lift of the foil. This phase can sometimes take a bit longer to master. You’ll notice that falling into the water and climbing back onto your board can be quite intensive, and the lesson time is definitely sufficient.
You'll now head straight out onto the water with the board and foil. You’ll start again by finding the right position on the board and feeling when you get lift and come out of the water. The focus will be on getting up on the foil and making some meters over the water. Once you achieve this, you'll be fully ready! If you want to gain a bit more experience, consider booking an additional 2 days!
